A Literature Review and Result Interpretation of the System Identification of Arch Dams Using Seismic Monitoring Data

The system identification of concrete dams using seismic monitoring data can reveal the practical dynamic properties structures during earthquakes and provide valuable information for analysis structural response, finite element model calibration, assessment postearthquake damage. In this investigation, Pacoima arch dam were used to identify modal parameters. identified parameters dam, derived in different previous studies that forced vibration tests (FVT), numerical calculation, monitoring, compared. Meanwhile, results input-output (IO) methods output-only (OO) as well linear time-varying (LTV) method adopted compare results. Taking into account excitation, input, methods, reasons differences among these analyzed, some existing problems current are pointed out. These guidance regarding selection appropriate evaluation engineering applications.
